Massachusetts Enacts Novelty Lighter Law

lighterOn Aug. 9, Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA) signed into law legislation prohibiting the manufacture and sale of novelty lighters in Massachusetts.

Massachusetts is the 14th state to enact a novelty lighter law and the 13th state to wholly prohibit the sale of novelty lighters.

As you may have heard, last Friday Safe Kids USA got the dubious honor of being chosen as "The Soup's Clip of the Week" (the time code for the specific clip runs from 20:42-21:22).
