Alexis Kagiliery-Lee

East Coast Operations Manager

Alexis started her career as a child life specialist and provided psychosocial support to children in hospitals. She quickly realized that it was much easier to prevent injuries than having to help a child through a painful procedure or supporting a grieving family who lost their child to a motor vehicle crash. In 1993, Alexis became a member of her local Safe Kids Palm Beach County, and served as the local coordinator for 10 years before finding her way to Safe Kids Worldwide in 2006.

Alysia Montaño

Alysia Montaño is a professional Olympic 800 meter runner for Asics, a five-time United States National Champion, holds two American Records, and is a proud member of Team USA. As a longtime advocate for child safety, Alysia is a proud partner of Safe Kids Worldwide. She will be welcoming her first child in August and hopes to use the experience of preparing for her baby to help educate parents on how to make life safer for our children.

Amanda Knowles

Manager of Digital & Social Media

Amanda has seven years of experience in communications and marketing, both in print and online. Enthusiastic about digital media, she enjoys experimenting with new trends and innovative technologies, and is passionate about creating fun and effective user experiences online.

Amanda Sessego

Safe Kids Programs Intern

Amanda is a recent graduate from Arizona State University with a degree in Health Promotion and a minor in Family Studies and Human Development. Amanda has interned at the Mollen Foundation for Childhood Obesity, served on the ASU Student Health Advisory Board, and is now interning at Safe Kids Worldwide as the Child Injury Prevention Program Intern while also participating in ASU’s Capital Scholars Washington, DC program. She has a passion for health education and learning about public health and plans to pursue a career in public health.

Tony Green started his career as an award-winning reporter for a magazine, and has been involved in public service most of his career. A non-practicing, in-recovery attorney, he has worked in senior roles in the Congress, at the U.S. Embassy in Rome and as a “founding father” of the National Constitution Center on Philadelphia’s Independence Mall.

Brandon Bass

Brandon Bass is a professional basketball player, currently a power forward for the Boston Celtics. At 28, Brandon decided to take swimming lessons for the first time after his son told him he wanted to learn to swim.

Candice Ahwah-Gonzalez

Candice has vast experience in the field of public health and research as well as her Master of Public Health degree in behavioral science and health education from Emory University to elevate the program to new levels every day.

Carly Spraggins

Policy Intern

Carly Spraggins is a graduate student in the Master of Public Policy program at the University of Virginia, where she also received her BA in Government and Media Studies. In addition to spending this past summer as a Policy Intern at Safe Kids Worldwide, Carly has interned at the Children's Defense Fund and serves on the Board of Directors of Madison House, the student volunteer center at UVA. She hopes to pursue a career in child advocacy.
