McNeil Consumer Healthcare
McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a division of Johnson & Johnson, and Safe Kids have been working together since 2012 to raise awareness about safe medicine practices and to reduce unintentional poisonings among children. These education efforts target parents, grandparents and other caregivers.
McNeil’s first priority is the safety and well-being of our consumers and the people that care for them. The company is committed to educating consumers on the safe and appropriate use of medicine. That’s why it’s great to work with partners like Safe Kids Worldwide, who have a long history of providing in-depth research and data-driven educational programs, communication and public policy efforts to keep kids safe.
– Ed Kuffner, Vice President, OTC Medical Affairs & Clinical Research
The program, which includes research to study the how and where young children are accessing medication and the attitudes and behaviors of parents and grandparents regarding medicine safety, provides education on responsible storage, dosing and disposal of medicines. At the local level, coalitions connect directly with parents and caregivers by providing workshops and distributing education materials and tools to assist with creating a safe environment for curious young children.
“As the makers of Children’s TYLENOL, McNeil Consumer Healthcare has a long history of supporting programs that have a positive impact in helping children and families live healthier lives. McNeil is truly an example to every company on how to be socially responsible and do important things to make sure kids are safer around the world.” – John Claster, Chairman of the Board, Safe Kids Worldwide.
McNeil’s commitment to children goes beyond medication safety. McNeil is the presenting sponsor for Safe Kids Day, a national initiative created to raise awareness and funds to protect children across the United States.
It’s all part of a wonderful partnership with a company that truly cares about the safety of children.
