Mexico's Model School Zone Project

The School

  • School Name: To Be Determined
  • City: Mexico City
  • Number of Students: To Be Determined

The Issue

It is estimated that more than 20,000 lives are lost due to road traffic accidents in Mexico. Each year, one-third of the lives lost are pedestrians. More than six children die on their way to school every day. The poor infrastructure around many schools in Mexico City does not provide safe environments for children to walk to and from school.

The Project

Safe Kids Mexico will partner with local stakeholders, including school administrators, parents and the police, to implement the Model School Zone project.
