Trunk Entrapment Prevention for Babies On The Way

For many kids, a car trunk looks like a fun place to play or hide. Tragically, many families have discovered that kids can get in, but they can't always get out.

While babies can’t get into trunks as easily as older children, it still can happen. Babies should never be left alone in or around a car and should never have access to a vehicle’s trunk.

Safety TipTop Tips

  • Always lock a vehicle’s doors and trunk - especially when parked in the driveway or near the home. Keep keys out of children’s sight and reach.
  • Teach children from a very early age that trunks are not safe places to play.
  • Keep the rear fold-down seats closed to help prevent kids from getting into the trunk from inside the car.
