- Contact your local fire department and explain any special circumstances you have.
- Download this form and take to your local emergency rescue station so they know about your child’s needs.
- Consider a medical alert device for your child, his clothing or backpack.
- Install and test smoke alarms on every level of your home and outside of all sleep areas.
- Also remember for children that cannot communicate verbally keep a whistle, bell or alarm near your child’s bed to alert others to danger

- Keep a blanket near your child’s bed to help drag him or her to safety. Do not attempt to carry your child.
