Safe Kids’ member countries work tirelessly in communities around the world. In 2009, many received recognition for their dedication to children.

Safe Kids China and Honeywell Awarded Corporate Social Responsibility Award

On Nov. 19, 2009 Safe Kids China and Honeywell won the Corporate Social Responsibility partnership award for the Safe Kids @Home program.

The award was organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai at the 5th Annual Amcham Shanghai Corporate Social Responsibility Conference. The winners were selected from a strong field of 54 nominations.

Safe Kids Korea Wins 2009 Transportation Culture Award

Safe Kids Korea’s programs on child road safety were recognized with a Transportation Culture Award in Seoul, Korea. Safe Kids Korea's multi-faceted safety programs such as “Walk This Way”, “Safe Road, Safe Kid” and the “Mom’s hand Campaign” were honored.

The annual Transportation Culture Awards are given to six individuals or organizations in Seoul with the purpose of recognizing those who make great contributions towards environmental and cultural improvement on transportation. J.D. Hong, secretary general of Safe Kids Korea received the award from the mayor of Seoul.

Safe Kids Vietnam/Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIP Foundation) Awarded for its Outstanding Work

On November 18, at the press release for the launch of the Global Helmet Vaccine Initiative (GHVI), the Safe Kids Vietnam/AIP Foundation was presented the Prince Michael of Kent Special International Award for Innovation for its unique motorbike helmet interventions in South East Asia.

Also for its outstanding contribution to Vietnam children, on 15 January 2009 – Safe Kids Vietnam was also presented a Certificate of Appreciation by the Vietnam Minister of Education. This honor is awarded to international organizations – both corporations and non-profit – and private sector companies in Vietnam.
