Students at St. Joseph’s School face many safety challenges during their walk to and from school, including navigating heavy traffic around the school, walking on narrow and broken footpaths and a limited number of crosswalks.

Safe Kids Foundation will soon collect information to assess the current child pedestrian safety situation around the school.

UPDATES
October 25, 2012 - We completed the baseline assessment and are meeting with our working committee members to determine an intervention work plan.
July 23, 2012 - In partnership with a Mumbai teacher’s union (Brihanmumbai Mahapalika Shikshak Sabha), school administration, and Mumbai Environmental Social Network, we are collecting data for baseline assessment. The assessment will be complete by August 31.
May 9, 2012 - We selected a school, organized a working committee and are preparing to begin the baseline assessment in May 2012.
