Safe Kids China Marks Gas Safety Month

Gas Safety Month in China was held in January to increase awareness about the safety issue in six cities. As a part of the month, Safe Kids China coordinated several activities including a launch ceremony in Beijing, volunteer in-school activities in six cities, and a Safe Kids @ Home mini-site:
- The 2012 Safe Kids @ Home program, which includes Gas Safety Month, was launched with a ceremony in Beijing. The launch included student activities as well as speeches given by officials from the local education bureau and Mr. Samual Wu, the Regional General Manager and VP of Honeywell Process Solutions of Greater China. The ceremony acquired 14 media news reports, including a report on Sina China news.
- In-school educational activities were conducted in six cities (Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Zhongshan, Guangzhou and Tianjin) by 50 Honeywell volunteers who gave lectures about gas safety to over 600 students.
- The 2012 Safe Kids @ Home mini-site, which was launched in December and updated for Gas Safety Month with four badges called “Little Talent,” which encourage children to learn key safety messages on gas safety in order to win badges. The website focuses on gas safety at home with a video and e-curriculum. Within one month of the launch, the website received 9,456 visits and over 43,187 page views.
