“You don’t see many kids arguing on Capitol Hill, so their voices often get left behind. I love that my job allows me to advocate on behalf of kids.”

Roshan comes to Safe Kids Worldwide from Wellesley College, where she majored in political science and minored in psychology. Roshan has interned with Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va. as well as Rep. James P. Moran, D-Va. At Safe Kids, Roshan uses her passion for policy to push for legislation, regulatory action, and educational programs on the state, national, and local level that promote child safety.

Does it ever seem like Washington isn’t listening to us? Well, recently the Senate Appropriations Committee sent a message that they were hearing us.

Pop quiz. Who do you think are the best advocates for child safety issues?   a) Pediatricians; b) Elected Officials; c) Teachers; d) Parents?  The answer is: e - none of the above.

That’s right. While many of these groups work hard for children, peer-for-peer advocacy, or kids lobbying on behalf of kids, can actually have the biggest impact of all.
