SPECIAL NEEDS TRANSPORT IN-SERVICE FOR OTs, PTs AND HOSPITAL PERSONNEL
Welcome to the webpage designed for certified child passenger safety technicians who want to increase awareness among hospital professionals about transporting children with special healthcare needs. Any certified child passenger safety technician interested in special needs transportation can present the in-service.
The in-service was developed by the National Center for the Safe Transportation of Children with Special Healthcare Needs in conjunction with Safe Kids Worldwide. Funding for the project was provided by Safe Kids Worldwide and the Children’s National Health System, Washington, DC.
The webpage allows you to access the following toolkit materials needed to present the Special Needs Transport In-Service for OTs, PTs and Hospital Personnel:
- A 45-minute PowerPoint presentation for you to use at hospitals to increase awareness about transporting children with special healthcare needs properly and safely.
- Dr. Marilyn Bull, FAAP, and her team at Riley Hospital provided the technical content to clarify which physical conditions might require use of durable medical equipment (DME) and other conditions that might not require anything special for a safe discharge.
- Documents, which include:
- Presenter Resources
- In-Service Attendee Tool Kit (please distribute)
- Documents, which include:
