Passenger Safety for Teens

Keep your teen safe in and around cars - read our tips below.Keeping Your Teenager Safe in Cars

  1. Talk about riding with others. You will not always be there to protect your teen in the car. Discuss a plan to call for help if the driver is impaired. Remind them not to be a distraction to the driver and to buckle up on every ride.
  2. Be a good example. When adults wear seat belts, kids wear seat belts. So be a good example and buckle up for every ride. Be sure everyone in the vehicle buckles up, too.
  3. Prepare your teen driver. Check out these tips for teen passengers and drivers (and their parents!)
