You are here
Welcome to Safe Kids Day! We are excited and grateful that your coalition is participating in Safe Kids Day – a national initiative with three main goals:
- Raise awareness of Safe Kids Worldwide and our mission of child injury prevention.
- Raise funds to support our programs locally and nationally.
- Create fun events that celebrate the potential of every child.
Our goal with this toolkit is to provide you with tips and materials that will help you build awareness of, plan an event for, and fundraise to support Safe Kids Day.
Safe Kids is committed to keeping you informed about recalls of products which can put our kids at risk. While it is important to stay aware of all recalls, Safe Kids urges you to pay particular attention to ones in red, as they are associated with one or more deaths. (There are none in this issue.)
Albert Einstein once said that “doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results” is not consistent with good mental health. But here we are eight days before the fiscal cliff kicks in, just as we sat on the cliff on New Year’s Day.
Safe Kids is committed to keeping you informed about recalls of products that can put kids at risk. This recall report includes 500,000 hoverboards, Combi car seats, mixed berry and strawberry parfait, an insomnia medication, video baby monitors, s’mores ice cream and jogging strollers. The Safe Kids’ recall center is a unique place where parents and caregivers can go to stay up-to-date on recalls of all child-related products.
Last night, Safe Kids was honored to be recognized as the 2016 nonprofit winner of the Golden Halo Award, which is the “highest honor for companies and causes that collaborate to produce business and social dividends.” The award was presented at the Cause Marketing Forum in Chicago, where our president and CEO, Kate Carr, delivered the keynote address.
