CHILDREN'S PRODUCT RECALLS - December 2020

Safe Kids is committed to keeping you informed about recalls of products that can put kids at risk. This recall report includes inclined sleeper accessories posing an infant suffocation risk as well as children’s swimsuits and rompers posing choking, laceration and pinching hazards. December 30, 2020, CPSC;  Target recalled Infant Rompers because the snaps on the romper can break or detach, posing choking, laceration and pinching hazards to children. Units: About 299,000

December 30, 2020, CPSC; Target recalled its Cat & Jack Infant-Toddler One-Piece Rashguard Swimsuits because their snaps can break or detach from the swimsuit, posing choking and laceration hazards to children. Units: About 181,000.

December 30, 2020, CPSC; Target recalled its Cloud Island infant rompers because the snaps can break or detach, posing choking, laceration and pinching hazards to young children. Units: About 299,000.

December 23, 2020, CPSC; GSK Consumer Health recalled five brands of Excedrin because some of their bottles have a hole in the bottom, potentially giving children access to the contents and posing a risk of poisoning. Units: About 433,600

December 23, 2020, CPSC; Urban Outfitters recalled its Swirled Taper and Sofia Taper Candle Holders because they can catch on fire if they come into contact with the candle’s flame, posing a fire hazard. Units: About 5,200 (an additional 300 sold in Canada). 

December 23, 2020, CPSC; King of Fans recalled its Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fans because the fan blades can detach while in use, posing an injury hazard. Units: About 182,000 (an additional 8,800 sold in Canada).

December 17, 2020, CPSC; Otis Elevator Company recalled its Otis and CemcoLift Private Residential Elevators because children can become entrapped between the exterior landing door and the interior elevator car door/gate and suffer serious injuries or death when the elevator is called to another floor. Units: About 5,000.

December 16, 2020 CPSC; LG Energy Solution Michigan recalled its RESU 10H Lithium-Ion Residential Energy Storage System, because the home batteries can overheat, posing a risk of fire and emission of harmful smoke. Units: About 1,815.

December 16, 2020, CPSC; Graco recalled an inclined sleeper accessory included with several models of its Pack ‘N Play Playards because infant fatalities have been reported with other inclined sleep products, after infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained or under other circumstances. Units: About 51,000.

December 16, 2020, CPSC; Cycling Sports Group recalled its Cannondale Canvas NEO bicycles because their front fender can detach and cause the front wheel to abruptly stop, posing a fall hazard. Units: About 1,270.

December 10, 2020 CPSC; Thermo Tents recalled its Crua Tri, Crua Loj, and Crua Cottage Tents because they are incorrectly labeled as being fire retardant, posing a fire hazard. Units: About 260.

December 10, 2020, CPSC; Homfa recalled its HPB-087 and HPB-106 cabinets because they are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards to children. Units: About 6,375.

December 10, 2020, CPSC; Scentsy recalled its Luminary Jack Warmers and Bless this Home Warmers because of potential corrosion of electrical components, posing a fire hazard. Units: About 7,805 (an additional 260 units sold in Canada).

December 9, 2020, CPSC; Spirit Halloween recalled its Children’s Flashlights because their batteries can overheat, posing burn and fire hazards. Units: About 6,100 (an additional 380 units sold in Canada).

December 9, 2020, CPSC; LG Sourcing recalled its Allen + Roth 62-inch Electric Fireplaces because wiring connectors in the fireplace can overheat, posing a fire hazard. Units: About 48,000.

December 9, 2020, CPSC; Burley recalled its Dash X FM child bicycle seats because the reclining plate holding the seat in place can detach, making the seat unstable and cause the bicycle rider to lose control, posing a crash hazard. Units: About 780.

December 9, 2020, CPSC; Washington Shoe Company recalled its Western Chief Toddler Light-Up Rain Boots because rivets used to attach handles to the boots can detach, posing a choking hazard to children. Units: About 77,400.

December 3, 2020, CPSC; American Honda recalled its Pioneer 700 & 100 Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles because they can lose steering control, posing crash and injury hazards. Units: About 118,600

December 2, 2020, CPSC; ADCO recalled its Sure Scents 2-1 Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves candles because their flames can ignite the surface of the wax or cause the glass to break, posing fire and burn hazards. Units: About 142,740.

December 2, 2020, CPSC; Huffy recalled its Torex Ride-On Toy UTVs because they can unexpectedly move when reconnecting the battery after recharging, posing an injury hazard. Units: About 5,150.
