Children's National Health System
Children's National Health System started as a small hospital in the U.S. capital more than 140 years ago. Today, it is a proven leader in the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury. Children's National is the largest non-governmental provider of pediatric care in the District of Columbia, providing more than $50 million in uncompensated care for families who cannot afford to pay for medical care.
Safe Kids is an integral part of the Children's National Health System, which started Safe Kids Worldwide 25 years ago with support from founding partner Johnson & Johnson. Children and families are at the core of what we do and Safe Kids continues to lead the way with an innovative and imaginative approach. Their work is changing the country and the world in terms of how children are cared for and kept safe.
– Kurt D. Newman, MD, President and CEO, Children’s National Health System
Children's National is consistently rated one of America’s best pediatric institutions by U.S. News & World Report and the Leapfrog Group, and has received Magnet designation by the ANCC.
Safe Kids Worldwide is a separate 501(c)(3) (EIN 52-1627574) and an affiliate of Children's National Health System.
