Highlights

Safe Crossing Points

To increase awareness regarding safe road crossing behaviors among children in Uganda and to reduce the number of injury cases among school going children ages 6-13 years, Safe Kids Uganda is implementing the Safe Crossing Points road safety program. The program engages 10 primary schools in Kampala and includes education for teachers and children as well as monitoring and evaluation; teachers will conduct surveillance with a survey form for their school.

Crossing guards, who will be measuring before and after impacts of the educational programs, are also a key part of the program; they will be reporting on whether road crossing behavior at cross points among students who attend a program-participating school are improving over time.
