Mr. Rost

Many years ago, Mr.Rost went before the North Dakota legislature to testify on a bill that would make it legal for kids to serve as crossing guards in our state if a school district was interested in using them. He has been a BIG advocate for crossing guards for years.

He often times purchases crossing guard supplies for schools in our county. For the past 10 years or so, our now Sheriff Rost has been serving as a crossing guard at a local elementary school both BEFORE and AFTER school EVERY day of the year. He covers the one (and really only crosswalk) at the school, rain, shine or snow. Mr. Rost has also started a safety patrol program at the school and takes the training and supervision of these students under his wings.

For the SHERIFF of our county to take this job so seriously as to be at the school 2 times a day as a volunteer every day of the year, we know that he is committed and passionate about these kids' safety!! We are proud to have his as a member and partner of Safe Kids Grand Forks!!
