July 6, 2016 CPSC; The Consumer Product Safety Commission decided to recall over 500,000 hoverboards, the popular but controversial toy. Hoverboards are powered by lithium-ion batteries, which can overheat, smoke, light on fire and even explode. See the list of recalled hoverboards below and a news story on the recall in our news section.

July 14, 2016 CPSC; Clorox recalls three types of Liquid Plumr Clog Removers because the caps fail to meet child-resistant closure requirements. They are Liquid Plumr® Pro-Strength Foaming Clog Fighter®, Liquid Plumr® Industrial Strength Urgent Clear® and Liquid Plumr® Pro-Strength Urgent Clear® clog removers. Units: 5.4 million.

July 14, 2016 CPSC: Flushmate expands the recall of Flushmate III Pressure-Assisted flushing systems because they can burst at or near the vessel weld seam releasing stored pressure, leading to impact and laceration hazards. Units: 453,000. (including 12,000 in Canada)

July 14, 2016 CPSC: Home Source recalls floor lamps because of defective sockets leading to fire and shock hazards. Units: 2,700.

July 12, 2016 CPSC; Bernhardt recalls Marquesa dressers and nightstands because they can tipover if they are not properly anchored to the wall. Units: 1,700. 

July 7, 2016 CPSC; Kawasaki USA recalls Mule Pro side-by-side recreational off-highway vehicles because the front floor cover can be punctured by a foreign object, posing an injury hazard to riders. Units: 28,000.  

July 7, 2016 CPSC; URBAN626 recalls all models of the URB-E electric scooter because a bolt can crack and pose a fall hazard. Units: 1,200. 

July 7, 2016 CPSC; Pacific Cycle recalls swivel wheel jogging strollers because the front wheel can become loose and detach, causing crash and fall hazards. Units: 217,600

July 6, 2016 CPSC; PTX Performance Products recalls Airwalk self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 4,900. 

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Yuka Clothing recalls Wheeli, 2 Wheelz, Back to the Future, Mobile Tech, Hover Shark, NWS, X Glider and X Rider self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 800.

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Hoverboard LLC recalls Powerboard self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 70,000.

July 6, 2016 CSPC; Swagway recalls X1 Hands-Free Smartboard self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 267,000 (in addition: 5,000 units distributed in Canada).

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Boscov’s recalls Orbit self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 1,300. 

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Digital Gadgets recalls Hover-Way self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 16,000.

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Overstock.com recalls self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 4,300. 

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Razor recalls non-UL certified Hovertrax self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 28,000. 

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Keenford Limited recalls iMoto self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 84,000.

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Hype Wireless recalls Hype Roam self-balancing scooters/hoverboards because the lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding. Units: 25,000.

July 6, 2016 CPSC; Little Lotus recalls baby swaddles and sleeping bags because the shoulder snaps can break or detach, posing a choking hazard to small children. Units: 1,900. 

July 1, 2016 CPSC; Winco Fireworks recalls Black Cat Cone fountain fireworks because they can burst and spread sparks and pyrotechnic materials outward instead of upward as intended, posing fire and burn hazards to bystanders. Units: 14,000.
