“Every parent wants to keep their child safe. That’s a given. Yet far too many children suffer needlessly from a preventable injury,” said Kate Carr, president and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide. “We have made great strides – a 60 percent decrease in fatalities since 1988 – but we can and must do better. And that’s what Safe Kids Day is all about. It’s teaching the simple things that can be done so that kids grow up healthy, safe and strong.”
Many families don’t have access to the information they need to keep their children safe from minor injuries that result in cuts, bruises and falls to more serious tragedies such as drowning, car crashes and fires. Safe Kids Worldwide provides resources to families and communities to protect children.
The 2015 Safe Kids Day campaign fundraising goal is $1.2 million. Proceeds from Safe Kids Day support the local, state and national injury prevention efforts of Safe Kids Worldwide. Safe Kids Day is presented by Nationwide and supported by Johnson & Johnson, FedEx, Chevrolet, Kidde Fire Safety, Tide and others. Learn more about Safe Kids Worldwide and Safe Kids Day.
