For 20 years, Safe Kids Worldwide, General Motors and Chevrolet have partnered to protect children in and around cars. This multifaceted effort includes education not only through general awareness but also working one-on-one with families at car seat checkups to make sure children are getting the best possible protection when they travel on the roads. Despite progress over the years, there is one aspect of car seat safety that has seen no progress: top tether use. This new research examines the use of top tethers in forward-facing car seats with a harness.
