Keeping Your Teenager Safe in Cars
- Talk about riding with others. You will not always be there to protect your teen in the car. Discuss a plan to call for help if the driver is impaired. Remind them not to be a distraction to the driver and to buckle up on every ride.
- Be a good example. When adults wear seat belts, kids wear seat belts. So be a good example and buckle up for every ride. Be sure everyone in the vehicle buckles up, too.
- Prepare your teen driver. Check out these tips for teen passengers and drivers (and their parents!)
