Series Overview 

We are excited to present you with our video series, which provides educational instruction on household safety for parents, caregivers and relatives of children with special needs.

Meet the Davis Family

Meet Lucy Davis; she is the parent of two children, a five-year-old son named Billy and a 7-year-old daughter Cindy. Lucy faces different challenges with each child as Billy is hearing impaired and Cindy is blind. Lucy must focus her overall attention on safety precautions as well as more specific safety tips catering to each of her children's individual needs.

Meet the Gomez Family

Ten-year-old Luis Gomez uses a wheel chair. Mom and dad work closely with him to make sure that their home is safe for him to move around.Together as a family they plan and practice scenarios where they would have to help Luis get out of harms way or escape from the home in the event of a fire. 

Meet the Jones Family

Meet Harold Jones. Harold is a teenager who has a cognitive disorder. Harold sometimes has difficulty comprehending certain safety concepts, and his parents must continuously take extra precautions regardless of Harold's age.

Follow each family as they learn how to tackle fire safety and burn prevention, poison hazards, water safety, falls and choking prevention.
