As the Senior Executive Assistant to the President of Safe Kids, Derrick provides day-to-day and programmatic support for the president and executive leadership. A seasoned healthcare professional with more than 30 years of experience in the pediatric setting, Derrick has a passion for injury prevention and creating safer environments for kids. Prior to Safe Kids, Derrick supported medical education leaders and pediatric residents at Children’s National, helping to prepare the next generation of pediatricians. He was also a leader in tobacco cessation efforts and is skilled at motivational interviewing.
