Shane Simenstad

Public Policy Manager

As Public Policy Manager, Shane is responsible for coordinating Safe Kids’ government relations strategy and engagement of federal policymakers on child safety issues including road, water, and consumer product safety. He also oversees the policy team’s provision of technical support to the Safe Kids coalition network in their engagements with local and state level public officials. Shane serves as the staff lead for the Safe Kids in Automated Vehicles Alliance, a collaborative stakeholder group Safe Kids formed to address emerging child safety issues related to automation and other advanced vehicle technologies. Shane holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
