Many parents assume the high chair they use for their child during meal time is safe. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Our new research shows that every day in the U.S., an average of 24 children are treated in an emergency department for an injury related to either a high chair or chair booster seat – that is one child every hour.
The legislation includes provisions to help improve Child Passenger Safety for all kids
Washington, D.C. - The U.S. House of Representatives passed a five-year surface transportation bill, the Investing in a New Vision for The Environment and Surface Transportation (INVEST) in America Act (H.R. 3684), which includes several provisions that, if enacted into law, would substantially improve child passenger safety (CPS) for all children.

Who doesn’t love a good vacation? I know I do. One of my favorite things to look forward to is my family’s summer vacation. We almost never go to the same place twice (there were those three consecutive visits to a water park lodge, but that doesn’t count because who gets tired of water slides?)
Child Passenger Safety Week is September 17-23, but at Safe Kids we’re celebrating all month long.
It’s so important to make sure your child is riding as safely as possible in the car that we’re hosting more than 400 community car seat safety checkup events throughout the month of September. Events are updated weekly.
Despite progress over the years, there is one aspect of car seat safety that has seen no progress: top tether use. Tethers are used with forward-facing car seats that have a harness.
