Safe Kids Worldwide was founded in 1987 by Martin R. Eichelberger, M.D., a pediatric trauma surgeon, and Herta Feely, a public relations professional.

Safe Kids teams up with an extensive network of more than 400 coalitions in the U.S. and partners with organizations in 25 countries around the world.

One of the best ways to keep kids safe is to spread the word. And that’s where you and the rest of our Shout Out Team come into play.

Martin R. Eichelberger, M.D., and Herta Feeley founded the National SAFE KIDS Campaign in 1988. It offficially became Safe Kids Worldwide in 2005.
