Ms. Agueda greets our families with a smile every morning, rain or shine. My children look forward to arriving at school and hearing her greeting, "Buenas Dias Mi Amore!" Not only is she supporting their learning through practice of speaking Spanish, but she is also starting their day on a very positive note!
Officer Griffith greets you with a smile and a wave every morning. The works hard to Lee the students safe. This is a very busy school, but Officer Griffith makes the drop off a breeze. He definitely helps start my morning with a happy note.
Mr. Roberts is retired and volunteers at the diciest intersection used by high school students, middle school students, and elementary students. Don does this as a public service to the community, he's not affiliated with the school district, he's everyone's hero on Kodiak.
Terrible weather, poor visibility on dark winter mornings, snow, ice, sleet, wind. Mr. Roberts has been standing on that corner every school day for 17 years other than when he was ill or recovering from knee surgery. He is a community hero.
Many years ago, Mr.Rost went before the North Dakota legislature to testify on a bill that would make it legal for kids to serve as crossing guards in our state if a school district was interested in using them. He has been a BIG advocate for crossing guards for years.
Ms. Terri as the children call her is there early, stays late and pays no mind to the weather, the children are not the only ones who love her. Teachers toot and wave, parents have made signs recognizing her birthday, brought her treats for holidays and last day of school, even the pets look forward to and are always excited to see Ms. Terri , in her pocket is always a biscuit / treat (she's never without). She knows the children and parents by name and all their birthdays.
