Safe Kids is committed to keeping you informed about recalls of kids’ oriented products. While it is important to keep aware of all recalls, Safe Kids urges you to pay particular attention to ones in red, as they are associated with one or more deaths.

5/29/2014 CPSC: Sunbeam is voluntarily recalling ceramic heaters because they can overheat posing a fire hazard. Units: About 151,600
5/28/2014 CPSC: Hamilton Beach is voluntarily recalling baby food makers because small parts of the stainless steel pin in the lid can loosen and fall into the processed food. Units: About 790
5/28/2014 CPSC: Lithonia Lighting is voluntarily recalling emergency lights because the circuit board can overheat posing a fire hazard. Units: 1.7 million
5/27/2014 CPSC: Empress Arts is voluntarily recalling children’s pajamas because they fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear posing a risk of burn and injury. Units: About 1,400
5/23/2014 FDA: Sun Tree is voluntarily recalling walnuts because there is a possibility they are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
5/23/2014 FDA: Belleville Farmer’s Market is voluntarily recalling walnuts because there is a possibility they are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
5/23/2014 FDA: Brunkow Cheese is voluntarily recalling cheese because it may contain an undeclared soy ingredient, which can pose an allergen hazard.
5/22/2014 CPSC: Lakeshore Learning Materials is voluntarily recalling bristle builder play sets because the base of the three animal figures can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. Units: About 2,000
5/21/2013 FDA: Sherman Produce is voluntarily recalling walnuts because there is a possibility they are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
5/21/2014 CPSC: Nest Labs is voluntarily recalling smoke + CO alarms due to a failure to sound an alert during a fire. Units: About 440,000
5/19/2014 FDA: WhiteWave Foods is voluntarily recalling soy milk because it may be contaminated with undeclared almond milk, which can pose an allergen hazard.
5/19/2014 FDA: Middle East Bakery is voluntarily recalling pancakes because they may contain undeclared milk.
5/19/2014 FDA: Lansal Inc is voluntarily recalling hummus and dip because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Units: About 14,860 pounds
5/17/2014 FDA: Kraft Foods is voluntarily recalling cottage cheese because some ingredients used in these products were not stored in accordance to Kraft’s temperature guidelines which could create conditions that could lead to premature spoilage and/or food borne illness.
5/15/2014 FDA: American Waffle Company is voluntarily recalling pancakes because they make contain undeclared milk, which can pose an allergen hazard. Units: 480 cases
5/15/2014 CPSC: Nantucket Distributing is voluntarily recalling felt Easter baskets because the beads on the baskets can detach and pose a choking hazard. Units: About 24,200
5/15/2014 CPSC: H&M is voluntarily recalling girls’ leggings because a metal part on the belt can detach, posing a choking hazard. Units: About 65,000
5/15/2014 CPSC: BMC is voluntarily recalling bicycles because a part can crack or break above the brake mount, posing a fall hazard to consumers. Units: About 160
5/12/2014 FDA: Stonyfield is expanding their voluntarily recall of YoBaby yogurt because here is a possibility that some of these yogurts may be contaminated with Klebsiella pneumonia. Units: An additional 1,344
5/9/2014 CPSC: Coleman is voluntarily recalling Northstar Lanterns because an incorrect gas feed tube was installed on the lantern, posing a fire hazard. Units: About 95
5/8/2014 FDA: Surma is voluntarily recalling raisins because they may contain undeclared sulfites, which pose an allergen hazard.
5/7/2014 CPSC: Discount School Supplies is voluntarily recalling magnetic color boards because magnet can detach and the plywood backing can crack and release small metal balls, which can pose a choking hazard. Units: About 3,700
5/5/2014 CPSC: Cycling Sports is voluntarily recalling Cannondale Tandem Bicycles because part of the bicycle can break and cause the riders to lose control, posing a fall risk.. Units: About 80
5/5/2014 FDA: Pacific Organic is voluntarily recalling mangos, due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes.
5/3/2014 FDA: Wells Enterprises is voluntarily recalling Blue Bunny ice cream, because the product may contain egg not declared on the label which can pose an allergen hazard.
5/1/2014 FDA: Sixdog investments is voluntarily recalling cases of organic eggs because they may be contaminated with salmonella.
5/1/2014 CPSC: J. Crew is voluntarily recalling baby coveralls, because the snaps on the coveralls can detach, posing a choking hazard. Units: About 8,700
