On Saturday, April 5 more than 450 families and kids of all ages swept through the Lot in West Hollywood for the first ever Safe Kids Day in Los Angeles to help celebrate kids, prevent injuries and save lives.
The fun-filled event featured tons of celebrity guests, including Drew Barrymore and Ciara, who delighted kids by reading a few children’s books as part of story time; Vanna White, who invited kids to spin the wheel at a bike safety carnival booth; and Tina Charles and Matthew Hatchette, who played basketball with kids and offered tips at the sports safety center.

Q. I’m really excited for our family vacation to the beach this summer. I have two teenagers – a 13-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter. Both are good, safe swimmers, who I trust in our backyard pool. Does that mean they should be fine in the ocean as well?
