CHILDREN'S PRODUCT RECALLS - January 2021

January 28, 2021, FDA; Wahl Clipper Corporation recalled its Deluxe Heat Therapy Massagers, Model 4212, because they can overheat and lead to smoke or a spark, posing a fire hazard.

January 27, 2021, CPSC; CB2 recalled its Junction Tall Chests and Low Dressers because they are unstable if not anchored to a wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards to children. Units: About 11,000 (an additional 355 sold in Canada).

January 14, 2021, CPSC; Scalpa recalled its Scalpa Numb Maximum Strength Topical Anesthetic Cream because its packaging is not child-resistant as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, posing a risk of poisoning to young children. Units: About 10,000.

January 13, 2021, CPSC; Juratoys recalled Janod Toy Confetti Trumpets because the small plastic pieces inside the toy trumpets can come loose and can be ingested by children, posing a choking hazard. Units: About 2,457.

January 13, 2021, CPSC; Sea to Summit recalled its Alpha and Sigma camping pots because their nylon latches can disengage from the pot and cause the handle to detach, posing burn and scald hazards. Units: About 16,200 (an additional 2,050 sold in Canada).

January 13, 2021, CPSC; Belkin recalled its Portable Wireless Charger + Stand Special Edition because a manufacturing defect can cause the charger to malfunction and overheat, posing fire and shock hazards. Units: About 2,280.

January 7, 2021, CPSC; Noble House Home Furnishings Recalled Chests, Cabinets and Dressers because they are unstable and can tip over if not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards for children. Units: About 780.  

January 6, 2021, CPSC; Ozone Bicycles recalled Ozone 500® Density Bicycle models 164539, 162803, 164537 and 162805 because the locking hardware on the front wheel of the bicycle can become loose resulting in front while instability, posing fall and injury hazards. Units: About 6,000.

January 4, 2021, FDA; Essaar Inc. recalled its Soho Fresh 70% rubbing alcohol because it is contaminated with methanol.
