A highpoint of the convention was honoring those who have demonstrated outstanding support for our cause.

Did you know that the "zip" in "zipcode" means “zoning improvement plan” or that every day 200 billion M & Ms are sold in the United States?
The good thing is that we don't need to know those things.
But how about this: Did you know that the number one killer of kids in America is unintentional injury? Did you also know that in the United States, 9,000 kids die each year from preventable injuries like car crashes, falls, or poisoning?
As summer heats up, safety advocates show children and families how to have fun and stay safe
Washington, D.C. – The summer is one of the most exciting times of the year for kids, but it’s also a time when kids can be at risk for injuries.
As I watched the U.S. women’s soccer team win the World Cup, I couldn’t help but think that somewhere, “H” is smiling.
“H” was my high school varsity soccer coach. His real name was Haroot Hakopian but we just called him “H” for obvious reasons. He was a former army ranger who believed in the importance of teamwork, determination, respect and hard work.
Safe Kids is committed to keeping you informed about recalls of products which can put kids at risk. The Safe Kids’ recall center is a unique place parents and caregivers can go to see recalls of all products in a kid’s environment—otherwise you must look at multiple sites.

There’s lots of great ways to enjoy the winter. Sledding, ice skating, and the chance to wear big puffy coats and heavy boots. Of course, there’s also winter weather to consider and so far, we’ve seen it all: cold, wind, snow, and some sunny days too. Now that we’re about halfway through such an unpredictable winter, we thought it might be a good time to give you 5 things to think about when it comes to keeping your family safe.
My job is a pretty good one. When I’m asked what I do at Safe Kids, I usually distill my answer to three things: make sure kids have fun, stay active and are free from injury. Not a bad 9-5, right? Practically speaking, much of my time is spent on the third item, keeping kids safe while at play. And what better time to reflect on how great my occupation is, and celebrate all three—kids having fun, staying active and remaining safe—than during Playground Safety Week.
