Alexis started her career as a child life specialist and provided psychosocial support to children in hospitals. She quickly realized that it was much easier to prevent injuries than having to help a child through a painful procedure or supporting a grieving family who lost their child to a motor vehicle crash. In 1993, Alexis became a member of her local Safe Kids Palm Beach County, and served as the local coordinator for 10 years before finding her way to Safe Kids Worldwide in 2006. Now, Alexis cultivates relationships with coalitions, sponsors, lead agencies and partners on the local, state and national level and develops, evaluates and implements national programs for the child passenger safety program.
